The Root Cellar
Farmstead Notes, Old Knowledge & Things Worth Keeping
The Root Cellar is where we keep the useful stuff.
This is our collection of practical farmstead notes, growing experiments, food-preservation history, recipes, rabbit and fodder systems, living soil, greenhouse projects, and the lessons that usually come after something goes sideways.
Some of it is old knowledge. Some of it we are still figuring out. All of it comes from the things we grow, build, preserve, test, and live with here at T-Bone’s Place.
Living Soil & Composting
The good dirt, the messy piles, the rabbit manure, and all the slow, practical work that turns farmstead scraps into something worth growing in.
Greenhouse Projects
What we are building, growing, rebuilding, and occasionally arguing with under plastic and panels.
Fodder & Feed Systems
Sprouting, soaking, rack builds, feeding trials, close calls, and the practical systems we use to grow and manage feed for the animals in our care.
Meat Rabbits
The everyday care, housing, feeding, breeding, and hard-earned lessons that come with raising rabbits as part of a working farmstead.
Preserving, Pantry & Household History
The jars, tools, methods, companies, and old household systems that helped folks save what they grew, stretch what they had, and carry useful knowledge forward.
Recipes & Kitchen Notes
Recipes we make, recipes we test, old favorites, kitchen experiments, pantry staples, and the notes worth keeping when something turns out especially good.
The sourdough noodle recipe is tucked inside Sourdough Noods, Part 1, along with the story of how we made them.
