Thistlewyn’s Adventures is a layered illustrated fantasy and modern folklore series for teens, adults, and families who enjoy reading together. Younger listeners can follow the adventure, humor, and friendships, while older readers will recognize deeper themes of belonging, resilience, community, and finding home.
Thistlewyn’s New Realm
The feathered and furry friends she found
At T-Bone’s Place, on sacred ground,
Have made this new home away from home
A land where her wildest dreams may roam.
No longer lost, no longer torn,
She greets each dawn with joy reborn,
For every bark and chirping cheer
Reminds her, magic doth live here.
The fox that naps ‘neath the pine,
The crow that Caw-caws a cryptic line,
The hound who guards at the garden gate ~
All share in her fate, all celebrate.
Together now, they weave and mend
The threads of worlds that twist and bend,
And Thistlewyn, with heart aglow,
Permits roots of wonder to gently grow.
So, if you pass by T-Bone’s Place,
And glimpse a lantern or fairy face,
Know, Otherworld still softly sings
In Piney Woods, on feathered wings.

King Arthur spots a tiny, winged stranger beneath the pines and decides to investigate. His curiosity quickly turns their first meeting into something neither of them expected.
King Arthur offers Thistlewyn a taste of his finest bug broth. Her fiery response makes it perfectly clear that tiny does not mean timid.

Meet Us at the creek for chapter two
Moving Day
Thistlewyn thought moving day meant cleaning bug carcasses out of her new cottage. Instead, Arthur and Tex stall her long enough for the residents of T-Bone’s Place to pull off a surprise that leaves her completely overwhelmed.
The Nesting Authority
Thistlewyn and Arthur make their way to the T-Bone’s Place Nesting Authority, where Cranford helps her apply for a new abode. What begins as a simple search for a place to live becomes something Thistlewyn has never really known before: a place where she is wanted, welcomed, and allowed to stay. Somewhere between the paperwork, a Cedar Tree Duplex, and a long-dark Lamp Post, Thistlewyn begins to understand what it might mean to truly belong.
Thistlewyn & the Bug Broth King
“Well! If that be yer way of sayin’ hello, I dread to think what ye do fer goodbyes.” Thistlewyn, not so delicately was at the task of wiping the spew dribble from her wee little fairy chin and the chunder froth from the bug goo that had splattered on her little legs and feet from King Arthur’s bug broth backwash. He had no idea why she was all fired up; that was a perfectly fine breakfast he had forfeited to gain her friendship, and here she was—indignant, hmm…Join them as they journey across T-Bone’s Place to find her a new home she never knew she needed. Come along as they meet new friends and learn all about the critters of the Piney Woods of East Texas.
KING ARTHUR’s PERSPECTIVE
Arthur, the Pileated Woodpecker, was out for breakfast, chipping at a pine tree when a sparkle from Sugar, the Old Sweet Gum, caught his eye. Curious, he flew over—and soon heard a tiny voice ask, “Sir, why do you bang your head on trees?”
Startled, Arthur offered the stranger his beetle. She responded by regurgitating, and in return he took a taste. When she did it again, Arthur knew one thing for certain—he liked her.
