Thistlewyn’s Adventures is a layered illustrated fantasy and modern folklore series for teens, adults, and families who enjoy reading together. Younger listeners can follow the adventure, humor, and friendships, while older readers will recognize deeper themes of belonging, resilience, community, and finding home.
Thistlewyn’s New Realm
The feathered and furry friends she found
At T-Bone’s Place, on sacred ground,
Have made this new home away from home
A land where her wildest dreams may roam.
No longer lost, no longer torn,
She greets each dawn with joy reborn,
For every bark and chirping cheer
Reminds her, magic doth live here.
The fox that naps ‘neath the pine,
The crow that Caw-caws a cryptic line,
The hound who guards at the garden gate ~
All share in her fate, all celebrate.
Together now, they weave and mend
The threads of worlds that twist and bend,
And Thistlewyn, with heart aglow,
Permits roots of wonder to gently grow.
So, if you pass by T-Bone’s Place,
And glimpse a lantern or fairy face,
Know, Otherworld still softly sings
In Piney Woods, on feathered wings.

The Nesting Authority Restructuring
Cranford recruits Thistlewyn, Steve, and Rosa to help restructure the Nesting Authority, and officially names Thistlewyn’s home “Les Rendez-Vous.” But with new ideas, new roles, and a committee Thistlewyn never asked to join, this restructuring may become an adventure of its own.

Building Day at T-Bone’s Place
“Thistlewyn began giving Tex a hard time as she watched T-Bone’s pants sliding down into the sagging style. She said, ‘Tex, do ye wear drawers like T-Bone there? Ah, sure, I suppose not, seein’ as ye’ve been showin’ your tail quite a bit lately.’”

Not only had Steve breathed new expectations into the process, but he had also made Cranford question the parameters that he had created years before.

His parents knew this day was coming and had been prepared for this for a while. Cletus explained to Arthur that what they did might have seemed self-centered, but the willing selflessness of the community made it so easy.
The Creek Expansion Project
When the residents of T-Bone’s Place outgrow their favorite stretch of Bear Creek, Steve decides the answer is not to complain. It is to engineer a solution. What starts as one little squirrel’s idea soon pulls beavers, armadillos, birds, missing driveway gravel, and nearly the whole community into a creek project nobody will forget.
Tex and Rosa
Blown far from home by Hurricane Ike, Rosa arrives at T-Bone’s Place carrying more than a few hard miles behind her. When the Tropical Mockingbird meets Tex at Bear Creek, neither of them is quite prepared for what begins there.
The Four Amigos
Arthur was always an astute bird, and as they all grew it seemed Arthur was getting larger than his brothers, and his coloring was different than the rest. It was obvious none of his brothers looked alike. And the one named Tex was the only sibling that resembled the parents. Hmmm. Go figure…
