Groomie BaldiePro™: What Every Bald Guy Needs to Know (Copy)

My wife procured the Groomie BaldiePro™ for me in December 2023.  Being a long-time bald guy by choice, and a dedicated razor shaver, I wanted to try one of these.  I had an electric razor years ago that was nice; it was one of the name brand models.  I liked it, except the blades didn’t last.  I am still using the same blades that came on the Groomie!  The unit still keeps a good charge and is easy to charge with a USB port, so there is no excuse to be at the airport with a 5 o’clock shadow. LOL!  Additionally, the Groomie will even show you a digital display that will tell you the charge status.

Beyond the battery life, people noted in the reviews that the razor’s waste chamber requires frequent emptying due to rapid buildup.  If I go three days without shaving my head, I will need to empty the Groomie halfway through, but if I shave every day or every other day, I can make it through the shave before emptying the unit.

Moving on to maintenance, the BaldiePro is quite easy to clean.  I pop the razor heads open; the heads flip open and lock in place until I shut them.  Anyhow, I just wash mine out with warm water, shake out the excess water, and let it air dry before closing it back up.  The BaldiePro™ is made for wet or dry shaving, so the shaver itself functions just fine when wet. As I proclaimed in the video, the Groomie will not shave as clean as a blade, but it will make the head look nice and it is way more time efficient than a blade.  And… my wife likes my BaldiePro shave.  All things considered, when this Groomie wears out, I will definitely purchase another one.  Here is my list of pros and cons:

T-Bone demonstrates the Groomie BaldiePro™ electric head shaver and shares his real-world experience after nearly two years of use. The BaldiePro™ shown was purchased December 4, 2023 and still has its original blade/head assembly.

✅ Pros

  • Long-lasting blades – Still using the original set with no issues, going on three years!

  • USB charging – Convenient and travel-friendly.

  • Digital display – Shows battery status clearly, I can read it withOUT my glasses.

  • Good battery life – Holds a charge well over time.

  • Easy to clean – Razor heads pop open and rinse easily with warm water.

  • Wet or dry use – Works just fine even if not dried after cleaning.

  • Time-efficient – Much faster than traditional blade shaving.

  • Wife-approved – Always a bonus when the partner likes the result!

⚠️ Cons

  • Waste chamber fills quickly – Especially noticeable if you skip a few days between shaves.

  • Not as close as a blade shave – Leaves a clean look, but not baby-smooth.

  • Requires regular cleaning – To maintain performance and avoid buildup.

Update: T-Bone purchased the BaldiePro™ shown in this review in December 2023. Groomie has since updated the BaldiePro with its SmoothShave™ Blade 2.0. We were unable to find replacement blades for our original unit on Amazon, but we were able to purchase replacement blades directly from Groomie.

Update: T-Bone purchased the BaldiePro™ shown in this review on December 4, 2023. The BaldiePro sold today is still the BaldiePro, but Groomie now ships it with its newer SmoothShave™ Blade 2.0. Replacement blades for the current Blade 2.0 system ARE available on Amazon. We were unable to find replacement blades there for T-Bone’s original 2023 blade system, but we were able to purchase replacements directly from Groomie.
